Memorial Day Hike

Kids at our 2nd Annual Cul-De-Sac Party- May 21

Kids taking a break from the jumper.

Georgia, Steve & Jocelyn, and Ethie

Our 2nd Annual Cul-De-Sac party was a success with over 40 people from Midgrove Court and Wayland Grove in attendance.

Kids jumped and played while adults barbecued and talked.  Another great year of reconnecting with neighbors and having fun!

Evening bonfire- roasting marshmallows.

Miles and Forest sharing a book and a laugh at the library.  Sometimes they are so cute and loving, other times- not so much.  These are the times I try to remember.

Julian, Ca

This winter we rented a "cabin" (3,000 sq feet hardly makes one think of a cabin) in Julian for a few nights.  We had a great snow storm and enjoyed sleding & playing in the weather.

Forest on the mini zip line in the backyard.

Recent trip back east..

Ok, I know this is cheating, but I hadn't started a blog yet so I'm adding old pictures.  These were taken on my last trip to Maryland.

Dad & Adam

We had a great visit, went through some of Dad's old stuff, and went through Grandma's old letters and papers.  There is nothing like a family dinner back there with all the Munro's, Adam & Jen, and dad!

Mother's Day Weekend- Catalina

Undersea Tour
Last weekend Miles, Forest, my mom & I traveled to Catalina for the weekend.

We rented a golf cart the first day and toured a little bit of the island.

Catalina- Overlooking Avalon

The next day we took a semi-submersible boat to Lover's Cove to see fish.  There were thousands of fish for our viewing pleasure!

Returning from Lover's Cove.

You never know when you'll need a good head lamp!

We ate ice cream in the harbor, the boys played in the ocean, and we ate at Antonio's Pizzeria.
Beach play with the famous Casino in the background.

Ice Cream in Avalon.

The first night we went to an arcade.  Serious skeet ball skills were earning me two prize tickets per game.  We were doomed to leave empty handed until Mr. Tickets (Forest) started playing.  On his first game he won 100 tickets.  Second game 100 tickets, an so on through the evening.  He was beaming all night talking about his ticket "skills".  All through dinner he raved about his victories.  He couldn't contain himself...

Smug with victory at Armstrong's Fish Market!

Miles, on the other hand, could...

An annoyed bystander!
Needless to say, we came home with plenty of arcade crap, I mean prizes.

Tickets, tickets, tickets.

The boat rides from Dana Point to Avalon and back contained some of the highlights of our trip.  On the way to Catalina we were flanked by what seemed to be a hundred dolphins escorting us out to sea.  Leaving Catalina we experienced one of the best sunsets I've ever seen.

Leaving Catalina

Sunset - leaving Catalina.

What a wonderful trip!!  We can't wait to go back someday.

To all the mothers out there, Happy Mother's Day!

Goodbye Catalina!
